At the south end of Victoria, British Columbia you can walk down to the beach from the promenade along Dallas Road. I scouted this scene one afternoon and was pretty sure that it would make a dramatic early morning photo. Next day, an hour before sunrise, I took the bus downtown lugging my camera gear. I found the correct location in the dark, set up, and then captured this image as the sky began to lighten.
